Chef Chris Smith C.E.C.

In 1993, while attending the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Chris was diagnosed with Type I diabetes at age 27. Since diagnosis, Chef Chris has made it his personal mission to educate diabetics and their families about food and a healthy lifestyle.
He integrates the techniques used in top restaurants to enhance the flavor of food with meal-planning and food preparation in the home. He is an advocate for 360 Cookware because it cuts down on fat and calories without cutting out flavor.

Chef Chris is a well-published author of cookbooks like “The Diabetic Chef’s Year Round Cookbook” and “Cooking with The Diabetic Chef.” He is also a Contributing Editor for Better Homes & Gardens Diabetic Living magazine, and is a member of its editorial advisory board. He has been featured in USA Today, CNN, Web MD, Southern Living magazine. National television appearances include “DLIFE” and “Taking Control of Your Diabetes.”

Currently, Chef Chris is serving as a clinical researcher at Wake Forrest University in Winston Salem, NC, and is in pre-production on a public radio program called “Cooking with Chef Chris,” and a public television program called “The Diabetic Chef Cooking Show.”
