Route Shipping Insurance

What Is Route Protection? Why Purchase it?

"Package theft, also known as porch piracy, is the theft of a package or parcel. It can occur anywhere in the distribution channel, including theft of packages left at a household. The rate of package theft in the United States has been steadily increasing, with 90,000 packages disappearing daily in New York City alone."

Fast Resolution if Your Package is Lost, Stolen, or Damaged

Route's Green Package Protection is a package protection solution that helps cover your order in the event that your order gets lost, stolen, or damaged. Route Protection can be added to your orders for an additional fee at checkout.

Route’s terms and conditions are listed here:

Is Route a Licensed Insurance Company?

Yes, Route is a licensed insurance company with SEG Insurance Ltd. as its partner.

Why Add Route Protect Insurance to Your Order?

Our products are in high demand and are a popular target of theft — from the time they depart our factory all the way to your doorstep. With Route Protect and their free Route App, you can visually track your orders in one place and easily file a claim with their team if your shipment is deemed lost or stolen. No police reports are required by Route. Damaged shipments can also be reported immediately to Route.

How Does Route Process Reorders?

Route will reorder the items, depending on in-stock availability. Unavailable items will be refunded. Route will cover the cost of any reorders including shipping, taxes, and Route Shipping Protection.

What if My Order is Stolen or Stuck in Transit?

Route insurance covers lost and stolen packages. Claims for items marked as delivered (stolen) will be reviewed no earlier than 5 calendar days and no later than 15 calendar days from when the package was marked as delivered. Claims for items stuck in transit (lost) will be reviewed no earlier than 7 calendar days and no later than 30 calendar days from the last tracking update.

What if My Order Arrives Damaged?

Route insurance covers damages that occurred during shipping. If your order arrives damaged, please take photos of the item and the packaging to include in your claim when filing. Claims for damaged items must be filed no later than 15 calendar days from when the package was marked delivered.

How Do I File a Claim for my Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Order?

When you add Route package protection at checkout, you will receive a confirmation email from Route with a link to file a claim. You can also file a claim on Route’s app or via the web here. Please note you will need your order number and the email address associated with the order to file a claim. Claims will be reviewed for approval 1-2 business days after filing.

What if I don't add Route to my order?

When Route Order Protection is not added to the order, the claim is now between the receiver and the shipping company. The customer must contact the shipping company directly to open a claim. By not adding the Route Protection to the order, you run the risk of receiving partial or even zero reimbursement for lost or damaged packages.
