Bring a large pot of water to boil and cook the shells until al dente
While shells are boiling, take a large skillet and melt butter. Add in garlic and onion and cook until the fragrant and onion are opaque. Add in sausage and cook until it is cooked through. Add half the pasta sauce.
In another bowl mix together ricotta, parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Add ricotta mixture to the sausage mixture
Next, spoon the mixture into the cooked (and drained) pasta shells and place them in a greased baking dish.
Pour the remainder of the pasta sauce over top of shells until evenly saturated and sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top of the pasta shells.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.Add fresh basil. Serve warm and enjoy!
