Oven-Baked Gyros with Dill Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients

    • 1 pound of ground beef

    • 1 pound of ground lamb

    • ½ red onion, chopped

    • 4 cloves of garlic

    • ½ cup of Panko breadcrumbs

    • 2 teaspoons of dried oregano

    • 2 teaspoons of coriander

    • 1 tablespoon of cumin

    • 1 teaspoon of salt

    • 2 teaspoons of black pepper

    • 1 cup of greek yogurt

    • ⅓ cup of mayonnaise

    • Juice from ½ of a lemon

    • 1 clove of garlic

    • 2 tablespoons of fresh dill

    • Black pepper and salt to taste

    Directions

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit

    2. In a food processor, combine all of the ingredients and pulse until a paste forms.

    3. Press the gyro mixture into your stainless steel loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees fahrenheit

    4. Let the meat cool and then cut into thin slices

    5. Serve with your favorite toppings, such as cucumbers, pickled red onion, feta cheese, kalamata olives, and lettuce.
