Perfect Dinner Recipe
Products used here: 8.5” Fry Pan with Short Handles; 2 Quart Stainless Steel Saucepan with Cover

Ingredients
- 1-1.5 pounds of gold potatoes, sliced
- ¼ of a yellow onion, sliced
- 3 tablespoons of salted butter
- ¼ cup of flour
- 1 ¼ cup of whole milk
- 8 ounces of shredded cheddar cheese (ideally freshly shredded)
- ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon of onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 ounces of gruyere, parmesan, or additional cheddar cheese for topping
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish, if desired
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and lightly grease your 8.5” Stainless Steel Fry Pan with Short Handles.
Cut the potatoes into slices and place them in the Fry Pan, along with the sliced onion.
In your saucepan, melt the butter on medium heat, and mix in the flour so a paste forms, then slowly add the milk, continuing to whisk so a roux forms. Continue to whisk until the sauce thickens (about 5 minutes).
Reduce the heat to low and season with garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper to taste. You will most likely need more salt than you think!
Add in the cheese and continue to mix until everything is melted into a smooth cheese sauce.
Pour the cheese sauce over the potatoes, cover with foil, and bake for 45 minutes. After the first 45 minutes, remove the foil, top with additional cheese, and bake for another 30 minutes.
Garnish with parsley or chives as desired.
