Great cooker but sadly, vapor seal doesn’t properly work

"I like to slow cook pinto beans. And this cooker (crock pot) did a superior job of cooking them til tender and delish. But I’m soooo disappointed in the vapor lock—which spewed steam and bean broth from here to kingdom come the entire day. I’m still cleaning it up, a day later. A complete mess. Very disappointing! I do not want to clean up such a gigantic mess every time I crock pot my beans (weekly). This pot is way too expensive to fail in this manner."

"Vegan, needed a good way to cook beans, lentils n legumes without the need to constantly stir n keep from boiling over. I batch cook for one, so the 4 qt size is perfect! Traditional ceramic crockpot can leach heavy metals like lead and cadmium from their glazes. So, even though stainless steel can leach chromium n nickel, I figured this is the lesser of 2 evils. Buying a well made product from 360, I’m hoping the quality will mean it’ll last years before the pot starts to pit."

Cookware fine…. but can’t get the vapor seal to work.

Is there a timer? If the numbers on the base are just temperature settings, how is this any different than just putting the pot on the stovetop on low heat?
Hello, There is no integrated timer for the slower cooker base. The benefit of it compared to a stovetop is more precise, accurate, and consistent heating for long periods of time.
I would love to use this for baking as well as slow cooking. Which 360 pans are the most suitable for baking?

How do I determine how long and what temp to cook? Does it translate directly to slow cooker times in recipes I already have? If not, how do I calculate how long to cook?

The 6 quart gourmet stock pot that fits the slow cooker base is 12.17" rim to rim. The inside cooking diameter is 10.50" and the inside height is 4.75".
