Made spaghetti on the stove top in it & it turned out great. Lots of flavor. But, I need to learn more about how to cook in it using the vapor technology it has. I may need to purchase the recipe book. Also would love to try it as a slow cooker, but need to save up to purchase the base."

- Is the bottom smaller than the non gourmet version? Trying to decide if this one is better for the size of my burner(glass top). Thank you!
- That is correct, the bottom tappers to a more narrow base. it is designed to fit our slow cooker base.
- I just purchased the 6 quart gourmet stock pot with cover and the booklet with it didn't have much information about cooking in the oven. The majority of my dishes are cooked in the oven, because of convenience. My question is ~ Do I follow the same instructions for cooking a whole chicken, roast or other dishes in the oven, as cooking on top of the stove (such as preheating until a drop of water dances, etc.)? Can I season my whole chicken as I usually do with olive oil, poultry seasonings, lemon, salt, etc (there was mention of putting chicken in a dry pot)?
